Team workspaces support multiple members with role-based access control. This page explains how to invite members, assign roles, and manage your team.
Roles
Every workspace member has one of three roles:
Owner
The workspace creator is automatically assigned the Owner role. Owners have full control over the workspace, including:
- Managing billing and subscription.
- Adding and removing members.
- Changing member roles.
- Managing workspace settings and integrations.
The current Team settings UI does not let you demote or remove an Owner.
Admin
Admins can manage the team, billing, integrations, and workspace settings. Admin permissions include:
- Managing billing.
- Adding and removing members.
- Changing member roles for Admins and Members.
- Managing workspace settings and integrations.
Member
Members can view and interact with all workspace data but have limited management permissions. Members can:
- View Console, Automations, Pulse, and Insights.
- Take PR actions (merge, request review, update branch).
- Configure their own notification preferences.
Members cannot manage other users, workspace billing, or workspace settings.
Inviting members
To invite new members to a team workspace:
- Go to Settings > Team.
- Either send an email invite or copy the invite link.
- Choose whether the invitee should join as a Member or Admin when sending email invites.
Invite links always join as Member. Email invites can be sent as Member or Admin.
Changing roles
Owners and Admins can change a member's role between Admin and Member:
- Go to Settings > Team.
- Find the member in the list.
- Select their new role from the dropdown.
Removing members
Owners and Admins can remove Admins or Members from the workspace:
- Go to Settings > Team.
- Find the member you want to remove.
- Select Remove to revoke their access.
Removed members immediately lose access to the workspace. Their past activity in Pulse and the console stays in the historical record.
Revoking invite links
If you need to invalidate the active invite link:
- Go to Settings > Team.
- Select Revoke next to the active invite link.
- Generate a new invite link if needed.
Revoking an invite link prevents anyone new from using it. Existing members are not affected.
