This page covers the self-serve billing flow for GitVertex team workspaces. Enterprise arrangements are handled outside the app with sales support.
Viewing your current plan
To see your current subscription details:
- Go to Settings > Billing in your workspace.
- Your current plan, billing interval, and seat usage are displayed.
Upgrading your plan
To start or upgrade a team plan:
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Select Plus or Pro.
- Choose monthly or annual billing.
- Complete the checkout through Stripe.
Upgrades take effect immediately. You are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period.
Downgrading your plan
For self-serve team plans, downgrades and seat decreases are handled through the Stripe Billing Portal:
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Open the billing portal.
- Make the downgrade or seat change there.
These changes usually take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Switching billing intervals
To switch between monthly and annual billing:
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Start the interval change from the billing controls or Stripe billing portal, depending on the current workspace state.
Switching to annual billing applies a 20% discount. The change takes effect at the start of your next billing period.
Seat usage
Team workspaces are billed per seat. In practice, that means GitVertex tracks billable members in the workspace and checks seat availability when you add teammates.
To view seat usage:
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- The Seats section shows how many seats are in use.
Adding a new member to your workspace automatically adds a seat. Removing a member frees up the seat.
Team workspace trial
New team workspaces start with a 14-day Pro trial. During the trial:
- No payment is required to start.
- The workspace keeps working while you evaluate it.
- At the end of the trial, you can stay on Pro or switch the workspace to Plus.
Payment methods
GitVertex uses Stripe for all payment processing. Supported payment methods include credit cards and debit cards. Stripe handles payment security, and GitVertex does not store your card details.
Invoices
Invoices are generated automatically at the start of each billing period. Access invoice history through the Stripe billing portal linked from Settings > Billing.
Cancellation
To cancel a self-serve subscription:
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Open the Stripe billing portal.
- Cancel the subscription there.
Your paid access continues until the end of the billing cycle. After that, the workspace won't renew. You can always start a new subscription later from the Billing page.
